For those who know me, I am die hard for trying new techniques to further my skills and this was one of those projects. I purchased "Faux Applique" by Helen Stubbings the other day and just had to try her technique. Using colored pencils and some basic embroidery skills you have a wonderful, fast and simple quilt that simulates the look of applique. I must admit, I wasn't too sure of the color pencil thing but I actually like it! I see some of my personal quilts in my future with this technique. I can see using this technique for art quilts easily.
