Project of the Day

I picked up this cute little girls book from local artist Mary Abreu, Little Girls, Big Style about a week ago. She was invited to our local guild a couple of months ago and I had to opportunity to see some her lovely designs in person that were featured in this book and can you say what a treat. Now I must admit, I don't have any girls, but I love this book for making things for family and friends. The book has wonderful pictures of inspiration along with a simple format of instructions that anyone can follow from beginners to advanced sewers. LOVED IT and my finished outfit. I will be making another as a gift.

Do something creative every day, a mind is a terrible thing to waste! T

Project of the Day

Project of the day is a Presidents Project for my local guild. The guidelines were to swap 1 yard of fabric, place it in a bag mix up the bags and choose one(try not to pick your own). What ever you picked was what you were supposed to use to make a project out of, so who would have known I would have picked this wonderful green fabric with all sorts of sewing stuff on it. I love it, so being the knitter I am, I made a Sock knitting bag and accessory wallet to put scissors, stitch markers and any other small items needed for basic knitting. If you look closely you can see I incorporated some quilting. Feathers baby!

This is Madison, she's a very spoiled miniature poodle, that is currently posessed with yellow eye, can you tell? I have to learn how to delete that from the pictures. Thats another lesson, another post. (Smile)

Enjoy and have a great Saturday! T

July, just gone, August here already.....

Ok, can't believe July flew right by me and August is here already and school buses will be picking up children soon. Can you say "what a summer!" I've had some adventures pretty much all the month of July, family came into town, and the month of July is history. I took a few pictures of my adventures. For those who never been to a garden where you can pick your own veggies you are missing a treat. I had the opportunity to visit a MASSIVE garden and we are talking about acres and acres, and more acres. Potatoes, squash, beans, okra, tomatoes, sunflowers, cumbers, peppers in every kind you can imagine, melons, zucchini, eggplants, and onions....lord the onions, were HUGE! What an experience with so many opportunities, if that garden was only here in Georgia. But I tell you one thing, I will be making a trip back there next year. I bought so many veggies back in my car I couldn't see my back seat. I loaded half of them off at Mom's house on the way home. I brought back about 20 pds of shrimp courtesy of the coast, at yep, $2.00 a pound, straight off the boat fresher then fresh. I almost feel guilty bringing those home so cheap with the price they are here in Georgia. OMG I almost forgot to tell you about my Alpaca adventure. I got a chance to visit an Alpaca farm. What a wonderful experience that was as well. Such friendly creatures with my ultimate favorite fiber hanging off them. I met Alpacas, met their fiber and bought their fiber! LOL

Now go make something creative! Signing off T
