Dyeing on the horizon....

Just kidding around, been having fun again with my colors.

I am trying to decide on another entry on what I am going to make. I tell ya, these deadlines come up so fast and I've been behind the 8 ball on these tasks. There are two shows I am wanting to enter and the decision to use a previous quilt, my "Everything that Glitters Quilt" is debatable and still on the chopping block. I am curious to see what others think of the quilt at this show in the fall even though it's a small wall quilt. I have to read the guidelines for entering previous quilts.




The other quilt I have two ideas running in my head and not sure which one I am going to do. I take that back, I am going to do them both, it is which one will get entered accordingly. I will keep you posted.

Ok, it's that time again, I am so excited! The Sewing Expo is will be this weekend and I can't wait to give you results of what new items and gadgets I may have found. I will keep everyone posted on this as well.

Project of the Day

It's a chilly 34 degrees right now and talk about trying to stay warm. After purchasing my X-Mas tree over the Thanksgiving Holiday I have seen something amazing happening. Tree limbs are growing...too funny! This little tree is drinking about an inch or two of water daily, but I love it!

Now to what I have been up to today. I spent last evening designing a quilt top and worked on the mock or small version today to see if I was going to like it. I had some hand-dyed fat quarters hanging around, not many color choices except green as a main color and put together this sample. I sort of like the way it turned out and didn't think the colors were all that great but for a sample I can't complain. I look forward to making a lap or twin and get it posted soon.

I am off to finish a quilt for a deadline so off I go. Have a good one! T

A Bag for All Occasions

Would you like to see my quilted bag I created sometime ago? I carry it with me everywhere and get ask time and time again where did I get it. I made it of course! A design by Frieda Anderson, from her book Fun, Fast Fusies, I wanted to learn how to fuse and this was the end result. I used some of my hand dyed fabrics. The back was embroidered with various stitches, with hand dyed cotton. It holds my books, my project(s) I am working on, as well as my Ott-lite or anything else I shove in there. It's pretty handy and I didn't realize I would use it as often as I do. I love it, thanks Frieda for the design! I love this technique too!
