July, just gone, August here already.....

Ok, can't believe July flew right by me and August is here already and school buses will be picking up children soon. Can you say "what a summer!" I've had some adventures pretty much all the month of July, family came into town, and the month of July is history. I took a few pictures of my adventures. For those who never been to a garden where you can pick your own veggies you are missing a treat. I had the opportunity to visit a MASSIVE garden and we are talking about acres and acres, and more acres. Potatoes, squash, beans, okra, tomatoes, sunflowers, cumbers, peppers in every kind you can imagine, melons, zucchini, eggplants, and onions....lord the onions, were HUGE! What an experience with so many opportunities, if that garden was only here in Georgia. But I tell you one thing, I will be making a trip back there next year. I bought so many veggies back in my car I couldn't see my back seat. I loaded half of them off at Mom's house on the way home. I brought back about 20 pds of shrimp courtesy of the coast, at yep, $2.00 a pound, straight off the boat fresher then fresh. I almost feel guilty bringing those home so cheap with the price they are here in Georgia. OMG I almost forgot to tell you about my Alpaca adventure. I got a chance to visit an Alpaca farm. What a wonderful experience that was as well. Such friendly creatures with my ultimate favorite fiber hanging off them. I met Alpacas, met their fiber and bought their fiber! LOL

Now go make something creative! Signing off T

What is this?

What is this you ask? My finished sweater of course, if you recall in a previous post (The list goes on-August 2010 and So Close-August 2010), I was trying to get a list of things done, ok, the truth, a list too long to mention any stats. I got my sweater done in time for Winter this year and can you say heavy and WARMMMMMM. This was my first attempt, so I have learned how to seam seams, button holes and measurements, not to twist your stitches so you get different stitches (LOL), and how to align everything up, so you think the sky is the limit for my next big project?

Now go do something productive! T

Ahhh Finished!

Here is my bag and like the title says, it's a big big bag. I almost forgotten how big this bag was. Elastic on two sides and drawstrings on the opposite sides. I really enjoyed making it. It took me a minute to remember how things went together but the end results on great....and MODA rocks with a mix of other stuff! Outside of my hand-dyed fabrics that is. LOL

Enjoy, T

What's on the cutting table today..

I have been thinking about a bag to make and I made this one for my mother last x-mas so I decided to make me one and to see how long it would actually take me for a possible class. I just got started picking out the fat quarters. I just couldn't possibly go to the quilt shop again and buy more fabric so I made myself use what I had on hand. I will let you know how that turns out. Right now I am short on the 1 and half yards I am supposed to have for the lining...darn it! Piecing here I come! I added about 8" to the center of a 1 yard piece and I am still short...shoot! More piecing here I come. Still short by another 7 inches or so, lord will this lining ever get to see the inside of this bag?

If you have ever seen this bag, "The Big Big Bag" pattern, it is wonderfully(is that a word? It is I did spell check!) huge and large enough to put a queen size quilt inside to bring with you to stitch-in or where ever. I love it, as soon as I get it completed that is..LOL

I am out to find another seven inches to my lining. I will have the finished bag picture in another day or so.

Love ya, happy crafting! T

Quilting Arts Wall Project

Learning how to attach beads to my project, I completed this small wall art with thread play and hand embroidery. Then after all that labor, I had a nerve to paint over my work with a light colored paint. Can you say "scary"? Love the results....

Just about finished....well lack of a binding. Actually the binding is ironed and completed and just needs to be attached and sewn down, but that takes a matter of moving and shoving stuff out of the way in the closet to get to it in the container I need....can you say lazy? LOL Some days you just feel like that some times.

Happy Crafting on whatever it may be today and enjoy every minute of it.
